Even growing up in Maine and finally fulfilling my dream by packing up and moving across the country to Tennessee just a couple months after graduation on my own, I knew that Journalism is something that I had to invest in. Journalism to me is something that I have always been interested in, even as a adolescent. I helped with the news team in the morning in middle school, all classrooms had a T.V. on the wall and we would have morning announcements that students would volunteer to do, which I did more than I like to admit. Telling people's stories, whether if it's breaking news of a large company going bankrupt or telling the sweet story of a mom and pop shop that's been around for fifty years is so important, because it's journalists that tell the stories of the people who may not have a voice otherwise.

In my short career thus far, I have been able to write for the Women's golf team during my time at MTSU, as well as getting the experience in political reporting; going to the state capitol in Nashville, talking to Senators and Representatives about current hot topic bills that they were in session over. Sports has definitely had a big impact on my life, but I truly love to write about anything that inspires me. I have written for a company called Odyssey Online, an online platform for anyone at any age, mainly college students can write about whatever they want. During my time I was the Editor In-Chief for the MTSU community, but once you are done writing for them, they unfortunately delete all of your content. While I was with Odyssey, I wrote about what it's like being eighteen years old and moving halfway across the country to start your life, to personal situations that have made me who I am today, which helped enhance the fact that I want to be a journalist.

This Summer of 2019 I was given the opportunity to intern at State Farm, working with their Marketing and Social Media department for a division in Columbia, Tennessee, as well as potential line-ups in the fall with the City of Columbia and the Murfreesboro Post.

I am new to this career, but I am excited for all the future opportunities and for anything that comes my way.
